#12 - #23 Rollyo, Del.icio.us, Technorati, Web 2.0, Library 2.0, Wikis, Learning 2.0 Sandbox Wiki, Online Productivity, Web 2.0 Awards, You Tube etc

PHEW!!! I have spent the last hour blasting through all of this as this is my final time to play with 2.0 in this capacity. My favourites from this last frantic sprint to the end would have to be finding the wikis with book reviews (always helpful when you run out of ideas for reading material or want to try something new) and the web 2.0 awards site. I spent a few minutes looking at the health site (peertrainer?) that won. These awards are a really helpful tool to find good quality websites on specific topics. You tube I have played around with at home as my boyfriend is completely OBSESSED by it! I really enjoyed taking part in this learning program. All I could have wished for was more time to complete it more thoroughly!!!!

#11 Library Thing

In theory this sounded like a great tool that could be added to my blog but I couldn't figure out how to put the widget in once I had created it. I think I would use this alot more if I didn't work in a library to find a good book. At the moment I get so many suggestions from colleagues that I can hardly keep up!!!

#10 Image generators

It has taken me a while to figure out how to get this image into my blog. Fingers crossed this attempt has worked!! I played around with a few different generators but couldn't think of anything polite to put into George Bushs' mouth! This one was fun because its always interesting to see your name in a different language. Don't think I will start going by the name Pin Yin anytime soon though!

#9 News Feeds

Computer Geek Award

I meant to say last time that before #8 came along I had never heard of RSS. Am I the only one? When I finally accessed my bloglines account I had a play around and added a few feeds through their search tool. I found it to be really simple and straightforward. During this exercise I have taken a look at all of the suggested websites and didn't find any of them as user friendly. I added one feed through technorati and would have liked to look at feedster but think they are updating or something. I am still loving flickr (pictures say a thousand words don't they?). Hence the picture, I think I deserve something like this after overcoming such extreme ignorance during the last few weeks!!!

#8 RSS

Hooray!!!! It has taken me literally FOREVER to get this working. Firstly I never recieved my confirmation email from bloglines after trying to get it sent through a zillion times. Finally I gave in and contacted them so they could confirm my account for me. THEN..... I couldn't for the life of me figure out what my public URL was! Then I finally got it http://www.bloglines.com/public/latestarter

#7 Technology

Ummmm.... Where do I start? And how am I supposed to write 150 words on something I am pretty naive about? I have only worked in libraries for the past 2 years so in that time technology hasn't really changed in many ways that affect my work. The widespread use of USB ports is probably the exception to this statement. However, in my private life technology has brought about many changes. One main one I can think of is the ipod. My first ipod looks something like the first cellphones when compared with my current one and there are always new versions coming out. The latest one holds around 40,000 songs!!! Thats more memory than most computer hard drives (I think). Thats got to be 150 words :)
